Currently underway is a specification procedure as part of the discussions web service toolkit as part of the JISC e-Learning framework. FlowTalk? is intended to become a reference implementation for this service, and as such demonstrate its integration within wider architectures. These environments are VLEs or CLEs such as Bodington, Stellar, Sakai, Coursework etc. - the primary issues facing integration relate to establishing shared concepts of permissions in a hetergeneous environment, although as more advanced integration work continues this will expand to deal with even more problematic areas such as event propagation and entity models.
