Emerge Project

Emerge ( http://jiscemerge.org.uk) is the support project for the UK Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Users and Innovation Programme.

The aim of the Emerge Project is to support the JISC's forming of an "effective and sustainable community of practice" (CoP) around the Users and Innovation Development Model (UIDM). The UIDM is seen as an essential component within the e-Framework by providing an approach to the development of useful and usable web services based on user-centred development principles. The CoP will play a formative role in owning and refining the approach and providing heuristics on use. The UIDM is not a "prescriptive grammer", rather an evolving description of user-centred design and development practices. The Guide will be made available through the e-Framework website to the wider JISC community and other interested parties.
